Lake & Salt Run Trails - CVNP

We'll hike the Lake Trail and Salt Run Trail at a moderate pace (typically about 3 mph) for a total of about 4.5 miles.  The Lake Trail is a fairly easy one... and Salt Run is rated by the NPS as moderate to difficult.  So we'll have an easy warm up doing half of the Lake Trail before reaching Salt Run... and a cool down with the remaining half of the Lake Trail afterward.

Let's meet at the Kendall Lake Shelter at 10:30 a.m. The parking lot is located on the south side of Truxell Rd. (Kendall Park Rd) that is south of Rte. 303, and runs between Akron-Peninsula Rd. and Akron-Cleveland Rd. in Peninsula. The park signs at the road clearly indicate the entrance drives for each shelter area.

In case you arrive after we've started hiking and would like to catch up, we'll be traveling counter-clockwise starting with the Lake Trail from the shelter house.

You know it's a good hike when you spend double the time of the hike at Pat Dees. As a courtesy to some members I believe they should just bring the Christmas Ale KEG and tap to the table.
Just a typical stop at Pat's. Everyone had a good time except the waitress. who quit. Dawn, your muddy pants made you still better dressed than a woman at the next table with a tie dyed shirt and the worst sweat pants ever. The pregnant waitress had twins and neither is named Neil depite my suggestion.

lol! Thought I heard she named her twins Nella and the other Lien. Might be wrong... Our group was still on the hike slipping and sliding, feeling the burn while you all were at Pat Dees. Great hike though!
