Bedford MetroParks, 3.5 mile - Photo-Hike - Leisure Hike Series - Bridal Veil

  • This location is shown only to members

  • We will be visiting Bridal Veil Falls with a leisurely stroll around the  area, with plenty of opportunities to stop, take pictures and contemplate the beautiful scenery.

This is a great event for those wishing to take photos as well as those that need hikes that are ideal for beginners or leisure hikers.

Dogs: Furry Friends are welcomed on a leash.

Depending on the conditions, we can take either the all purpose trail or the bridal trail to Bridal Veil Falls.   Appro. 3.5 miles.

There are opportunities to take a lot of nice shots there and back.  If we are lucky to have a snow fall, it is exceptionally beautiful.

This is SuperBowl Sunday - game tentatively is to start at 6:30EST

This photo was taken from a point and shoot full auto camera: Kodak EasyShare CX7530 - 5 pixels.

The trails we will be hiking on are going to be covered with snow with patches of ice. Make sure and wear a good pair of hiking boots and warm wool socks. I would also suggest a pair of ice cleats, to wear over your boots. This helps tremendously with a firm footing. A hiking stick would also help with balance.

Is it 3.5 miles round trip?

    January 28, 2013

    • Mary

Yes, if we hike the bridle trail and back the same way I is a little over 3.5 miles. My GPS reads at 3.7. It may be a little longer on the all purpose trail.

Hi Lori - yes it is 3.5 miles round trip. We are thinking about going 2-3mph; perhaps stopping at key areas for 15-30 minutes so some can fan-out and take pictures, take in nature, rest, or go back. No one will be left behind.
