Ohio Canal Corridor will be hosting the 18th annual Towpath Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K on Sunday, October 11, 2009. This event showcases some of the most beautiful segments of the historic Towpath Trail located between Akron and Cleveland. The Towpath Marathon is one of few marathons that take place in a national park, and many consider it a unique specialty race due to the setting and time of year in which it is run. All proceeds from the event benefit Ohio Canal Corridor, an organization that has been actively developing and participating in a variety of events and projects to preserve, promote and educate the public about the area surrounding one of Northeast Ohio’s most valuable resources – our park system along the Ohio Canal. Volunteers will help setup the water station and pass out water to runners. This is a great experience and a lot of fun. We need to get the Water Station set up before the race starts at 8AM (that’s why it is so early). It’s worth getting up early for. We are at the location where the race starts and ends so there will be a lot of activity and a lot people. All volunteers will receive an event tshirt.

Nautica Charity Poker Festival

HSGA will once again be dealing cards for charity Thursday August 27 thru Sunday August 30, 2009 at the

Powerhouse in downtown Cleveland. We will need volunteers to help work each day.

We need volunteers who are willing to deal Texas Hold Em - if you do not know how to deal, you can come before your shift and there will be people to teach you. I would request that volunteers commit to at least a 3 hour shift. You do not have to be an HSGA volunteer to deal cards for us!! We need you to start rounding up friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. It will be a lot of fun but we need bodies. We can use 50 volunteers

Friday 8/28 from 4 pm - 12 am
Saturday 8/29 from 2 pm - 12 am
Sunday 8/30 from 2 pm - 12 am
