Not everyone interested in getting more fit is able to tackle aggressive exercise, but we all need to start somewhere. This group is dedicated to providing meetups so that we have some company while we start our slow but steady journey to better health.
Activities are expected to be walks along the areas levies, cycling along the lazy river, hikes on some easy trails, or other activities where we can get moving and enjoy the outdoors the way that others do, but at a slower pace.
This group is open to all, but is focused on those who are not already in shape. Do you have arthritis, are you overweight, or want to find a way to leave the couch behind? This might be the right group for you. Would you like to take a meandering walk on a lovely trail, but don't feel comfortable doing it alone? This might be a place to start. As the group matures, there may be other healthy functions added to the mix, but the objective is to be a group where people can get a good start on the road to fitness, with nobody left behind.
Come and join us if you want to enjoy some mild activity. And of course, please take the time to arrange anything that you think would be fun for this group!
I have made the group private to maintain member privacy, but the group is open to any that care to join. I reserve the right to terminate membership for people disruptive to the group... but have never had to do anything like that yet. :)
Some of our activities so far have been walks in a few locations in the Wyoming Valley, slow bike rides here and in the Lehigh Gorge, and even a road trip to Lititz where we walked around the town, then went and visited the wolf sanctuary.
