cross country ski and snowshoe on the D&H Rail-Trail

(Weather permitting) Join us for a morning of cross country skiing and snowshoeing on the D&H Rail Trail in Union Dale, PA. We will meet at the Rail-Trail headquarters at 10 Am. If you are new to winter sports, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are easy to learn, fun for all ages and a great way to chase away the winter blues. They also have great fitness and social benefits. Afterwards stay for lunch at Cable's Deli. Cross Country Skis and Snow Shoes are available for rent at Chet's Place,[masked] (5 miles from the event). Check our website www.nepa-rail-trails.org for more information.

Well, it doesn't look good :( But it still may be ok for a hike. The weather should be warm and cloudy but no rain on Sunday. Please let me know if anyone is interested in a winter hike. The trail is a bit icy so yak trax and ski or hiking poles would help. If we can get a group together I will send more info.

No Snow but the weather looks good for a hike on Sunday. We will hike the O&W Trail to Stillwater Cliffs. This is a moderate hike with some hills and might be icy in places so Yak Trax and ski or hiking poles will be a plus. We can take a side trip to Stoneface on the way back. I will have extra ski poles here but please let me know if you need anything else. Things to bring: water, sturdy shoes, yak trax and poles. We meet at 10 am at the Rail-Trail Office in Union Dale. Please email me if you plan to attend! [masked]

I am interested in a hike and will come prepared for icy conditions. I won't be able to be near a computer until next Monday so if there is no hike I can be called at (570) 942-4282.

    Thanks,

    Jim

Hi Seth, we will be out around 2 hrs. How far depends on the weather. A hike will be shorter distance than a ski or snowshoe. I will post more info later this week.

snowshoeing is easy to learn. We could possibly have a snow storm this week so it will be either a hike or snowshoe/ cross country ski.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
