Few things are as enjoyable and rewarding as introducing newcomers to the world of aviation. Becoming an AOPA Project Pilot Mentor (see AOPA Pilot, July '06 page 64) and starting this meetup group were two ways to further that interest.
In aviation, exploring new destinations. Furthest points: Carrabassett ME (N), Niagra Falls, NY (W), Nantucket, MA (E), and Key West, FL (S). Other interests include boating (sail, power), U.S. Coast Guard Aux, skiing, professional and amateur radio.
Rented Piper Warriors at KDXR for most of 2001 then bought a Piper Archer II with a friend that December. I'll rent a Piper Arrow during the "Annual Inspection Doldrums" to keep from being flightless and losing my mind.

"I will never forget my friends who mentored me, and I am excited to "give back" by being involved in AOPA's Project Pilot program. It's a thrill to share the excitement of aviation! Looking to get involved in the Angel Flight program next..."

hi Clark, great job planning these trips ,thanks so much.
what a lovely idea for mom's day clark! you think of all the 'niceties' for the flying families. back from my b-day trip to marathon key where the dolphin thing was the highlight , and wished my granddaughter could have seen the great mammals and dolphins we saw on that great whale watch trip.
HI Clark, Just want to say hello to you from San Diego!! Miss the meetups back east gotta say..
Cute comment about Candlelight (not being lit!). Maybe see you tomorrow but Peppermint is down for funky oil pressure readings???....
Could be carbon... let's hope so!
flying on a budget????how commonsensical is that! when there are so many like me who want to fly, cannot afford to learn and/or still yearn--we can supplement the costs of fuel, etc. it is a 'win, win' situation -- pun intended!!!! although my pilot friends owned and could well afford in those bygone days, i alway genuinely offered fuel money!!!! my 'most recent lesson was at age 60 at HPN, but i have never stopped 'flying' in my soul...
since i cannot pilot, i will gladly help transport. i did my brief flying lessons at hpn, drive to and from everywhere--was
chauffering my grandchild daily from greenwich to all schools, lessons, etc. in and put points north in recent months since job loss. can drive everywhere, but would rather fly if i could. age is but a silly number. if anyone has room for me this weekend, please let me know. thank you kindly
Holy Flying Canines, Batman! What a GREAT cause! You have the wings, Clark, and we are certainly honored to have an ANGEL in our group. Please let us know when you'll be in the Miami area. We'd love to meet you.
