Little Harbor & Sagamore River Paddle

A leisurely Paddle from the Odiorne State Park boat launch into Little Harbor then under bridge and to the right around Leach & Pest Islands then over to and up Sagamore River.

This is a Level 2  paddle for tide/current and winds.

See our About Us page for Skill Levels

Kayaks of at least 12 feet plus of length with bulk heads required. PFD's "life vests"must be worn at all times. Put in is at the Odiorne Boat Launch boat launch. There is also a very small public launch for a few cars across on the other side of bridge. High tide is approximately 1:30 P.M so we'll be paddling with tide flooding into the harbor, bays and Sagamore river. We may stop on the return at BG's Boat House Restaurant for an early dinner so if this interests you bring cash or plastic. BG's Boat House restaurant is on Sagamore River and you can paddle right up to it and land.

Note: There is a $5 launch/parking fee at Odiorne State Park. Boat Launch is at the little Bridge on Rt 1A. before or after the Main Park Entrance depending if you are coming from Portsmouth or Rye. Check the map link below for details of launch site.

Great day on the water. Nice group! Other than a bit of wind at times the conditions were perfect.

have an Asseateague Impex for sale. This might not be the right place to advertise, but it is keeping me from paddling. I need a better fitting kayak to feel safe and comfortable to go out.

Is the boat house close enough to the take out that people can paddle back by themselves if they don't want to stop and eat?

Yes it is a fairly short paddle back the only risk is the current under bridge but the current will be with not against you.

As I have developed a virus or cold, I do not think I should risk going out in rainy weather. If this event is postponed to Monday, I would definitely try to go.
