Newcastle Island Circumnavigation

PLEASE NOTE: RSVP's for this event will begin 2 weeks prior. ( August 3)

Tides at Portsmouth Harbor:

Low - 2:13  pm

High - 8:39 pm

We'll launch at Pierce Island Boat Launch (locatlocat ed just across the bridge from Presscott Park in Downtown Portsmouth) and circumnavigate scenic Newcastle Island in a clockwise direction. We will stop and take a lunch break in Little Harbor, on the beach at Odiorne Point State Park. Then we will return to Pierce Island through the scenic back channel. This paddle will be approximately 7 nautical miles in length. (8 statute miles)

There is a $5.00 Fee to launch at Pierce Island.

This is a level 2 paddle and is restricted to kayaks 14' or more in length with watertight bulkheads or flotation bags. Expect to be paddling in Wind, Strong Currents, Large Boat Wakes, Waves, and Swell.

Lifejackets (PFD's) are required when paddling with this group.

All participants should have some experience with self and assisted rescue techniques, coastal paddling, and paddling in moderate currents.

Great Job, Steve, as always. Janice and I enjoyed the challenge of the rougher water. We adhered to your advice to steer clear of the shoals and had no problems.

I enjoyed everything but the traffic on the way up. Nice paddle with so much more potential for paddling the area. I consider Steve more family than friend and love paddling with him always. It is always so nice to meet new people as everyone is always so nice. Thank you Steve.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
