Traditional Greenland Paddle Building Workshop

  • Jan 18, 2014 · 8:30 AM
  • Cheri & Turners Barn

Carve your own Greenland Paddel!  Your choice of wood either Alaskan Yellow Cedar or Western Red Cedar, Sitka Spruce, or Douglas Fir.  While woodworking skills make this a bit easier, they aren't required.  This is a full day and we recommend that you plan on staying for dinner and bring a potluck item!  Short tool list provided after you sign up.

Wonderful day. Long, but what an experience. Thanks to our wonderful hosts for sharing their knowledge, skill, craftsmanship, and their wonderful barn/workshop/home. Thanks for patience and support, and teaching us new skills. I will treasure my paddle forever.

Turner makes the blank for you ahead of time, and while it is a busy and full day most folks finish their carving and take it home to finish sanding it.

Can one really plan to complete a paddle in a day?
