Pierce Island Rd, Portsmouth, NH
Tides at Portsmouth Harbor:
Low - 1:00 pm
High - 7:25 pm
We'll launch at Pierce Island Boat Launch (located just across the bridge from Presscott Park in Downtown Portsmouth) and circumnavigate Newcastle in a clockwise direction. We will stop and take a lunch break in Little Harbor, on the beach at Odiorne Point State Park. Then we will return to Pierce Island through the scenic back channel. This paddle will be approximately 8 miles in length.
There is a $5.00 Fee to launch at Pierce Island.
This is a level 2 paddle and is restricted to kayaks 14' or more in length with watertight bulkheads or flotation bags. Expect to be paddling in Wind, Strong Currents, Waves, and Swell. There is a strong possibility of boat traffic as well.
Lifejackets (PFD's) are required when paddling with this group.
All participants should have some experience with self and assisted rescue techniques, coastal paddling, and paddling in moderate currents.
The GPS Coordinates for the Pierce Island Boat Launch: N W70 44.897
Thanks for the text message you sent me Steve, I was planning on loading up tonight after work when I read your message at 11:45 pm
We'll catch you on the next trip. Waiting to see if my Cape Ann paddle is canceled for Sunday. We were on Tornado alert again today, getting to be like Kansas here in CT. In my next life I'm coming back as a weatherman, you never have to be right. You just never really know whats going to happen. I just did a paddle from Woods Hole where it stated crappy weather, we had good until we returned to the launch husband told me it poured all day in CT -you figure?
