Abstract
If you need to build a multi-platform mobile application, the two obvious choices are to write it once in each of Objective-C, Java, and C#, or to use one of the many cross-platform frameworks that usually has a non-native look and feel everywhere. In this live programming demonstration, you'll learn how to build multi-platform mobile apps using C# and the .NET libraries that you already know. I'll show you how to get started with Xamarin's MonoTouch and Mono for Android toolchains, and will give you some tips and tricks for sharing as much code as possible among platforms while looking totally native on each of iOS, Android, and Windows 8.

Very good talk about the details of cross-platform development. I really enjoyed watching Scott code as he presented rather than just show the code.

My company, which does healthcare insurance portals for copanies like cigna, is hiring c#/asp.net devs. Should have 2-5 years experience and be decent with MSSQL and decent with jquery/html/css (very light). Good bennies, fairly light work load...ping me via linkedin if you think you match and want to learn more. I can refer you straight to HR if your skills/experience match.

too much time spent on typing; sometimes better show pre-existing solution and explain essential points

I would like to have seen less intro on the company/project xamarin/monotouch and more on the IDE (e.g. features) itself and some best practices and pitfalls when using xamarin tools for ios/android development.
