Scavenger Hunt 2

It's time for the second scavenger hunt! This is done on your own time, wherever you want. The idea is to take photos, not hunt through old photos. All photos must be taken from March 2nd through March 23rd. Photos should be posted in the Scavenger Hunt 2 gallery and MUST be labeled with the number and name of the category.

Voting: last time voting was a time consuming mess for Rae Lynn. The only suggestion that we have heard is to put in the comments section "this is my vote". It will not be anonymous. Please give your opinion on this, or if you have a great idea for a non-time-consuming way to vote, please share. And the categories are:
1. Circular Shape
2. Movement
3. Cheese/s
4. Hat/s
5. Green
6. up/down
7. Leaf/leaves
8. One point perspective

9. Scarf/scarves

10. Peace and Quiet

Please only post a maximum of 10 images, one for each category.

Use any interpretation you desire on these, be creative and have fun. #8, One Point Perspective is a photography/art concept. If you are unfamiliar with it, please google it, or don't be afraid to ask; remember, this is Women Learning Photography Together. Enjoy!   To post a picture, go to "Photos" in the top menu, click and locate "Scavenger Hunt 2."

OK. I just spent 30 minutes reorganizing the photos by categories and gave up, as it only took me half that time to vote. Voting will end tomorrow night. Please see the link below to vote so we can get the next one started. THE PHOTOS APPEAR TO BE IN ORDER OF CATEGORY NOW BOT THEY ARE NOT, as it was taking way too long. WRite down the categories and go through each photo. When you see one that really strikes you, make a note of what it was an who took it. It really should only take 15 minutes. See the link in one of my previous posts for the voting site. Thanks everyone. Looking forward to the next one.

Sorry, I didn't notice an email about the survey link being posted. Saw it by accident when browsing the site and hope I caught it in time. I did just vote and the Survey Monkey is a good way to go!

Only 13 people have voted. That's about half of the number of people who participated. Scroll down to find the link and vote please.

just realized if you put the mouse over the picture it says what catagory it's in. Never mind.

is there an easier way to do this except pick a catagory and look through all the pictures, then pick a catagory and look through all the prictures?

Vote vote vote. Only 8 people have voted. We can't start a new one until we wrap up this one :-). Scroll down to my other post for the voting link.

Hi all. I took my final photo of cheese before Mar 23, then my Lightroom crashed. Thanks to Rebecca Benoit, it just got re-populated so my photo posting was on Mar 25th. Hope that's OK.

It happens ;-). Ok by me as we are still ironing out all of the little details.

Please complete your votes/survey by Saturday early eve. See the link below. Then I will tally the votes and we can announce the winners. The winners will be selecting the subjects/concepts for the next hunt.

Thanks for setting this up, Andrea. Is there a deadline by which we should complete the voting / survey?

    March 25

    • Andrea D.

I'm thinking Saturday. There have only been 6 surveys so far.

      March 25

  • Shawna O.

Sorry, I didn't realize there was a deadline time. If you need to exclude my photos, please feel free to do so. Don't want to make I difficult for anyone.

    March 25

    • Rae Lynn N.

Shawna, don't worry about it. I know it was kind of confusing. Thanks

Thanks Rae Lynn but I take full responsibility for not paying better attention to the guidelines. I promise to do better in the future. :-)

  • Rae Lynn N.

Andrea, I noticed someone added pictures today. What should we do about that?

    March 24

    • Andrea D.

Let it slide this time but for the next one we can make it more clear that photos need to be submitted by midnight on the ending date. That's my thought.

      March 25

    • Rae Lynn N.

The person actually added the pictures to the album that is created automatically when the "meetup" ends. I don't know how to make the album connected to the meetup before it is officially "over." I think their is a way, though..

Ok. I am fiddling with this survey monkey and hopefully this will work. If it does not, please be patient. Try both of these links. If either works please let me know, because they did not work for me, but that may be because I am the creator of the survey. Andrea

This was alot of fun. It let me be creative with categories I wouldn't have otherwise thought of.

this was my first experience with wlpt and it was fun. I would like to do it again.

This was fun and a good break from work. It would be great to have one each month. Thanks!!

    March 24

  • Rae Lynn N.

I like doing this. The survey was pretty easy if you write down the categories on a paper and then look for your favorites, note them on a paper and then go to the survey. It spent maybe 15 minutes total time.
Does everyone want to keep doing this each month or maybe every other month?

    2 · March 24

    • Andrea D.

Yeah! I just checked survey monkey after seeing your post and it worked perfectly. I love these but can't always do all the pics. It's fun regardless and gets you thinking. If the survey thing works out ok, I am happy to organize these since I got the monkey working ;-). Of course the winners would submit the categories to me. If you're cool with that, I'm happy to do it.

      March 24

    • Rae Lynn N.

That sounds wonderful to me! I would really appreciate it Andrea!

      March 24

  • Terri A.

Finished today also....whew! I love everyone's take on each of the listed items! Well done!

    March 23

  • Andrea D.

You don't have to do all of the categories to participate. The categories were chosen by the winners of the last hunt. Cheese was one of mine. Clearly I was hungry, and I have a cheese addiction, yet I have no cheese photo :-D. Do as many as you can. Sorry if I didn't clarify that. If anyone wants to vote for more time, we can extend the deadline. I'll watch for replies.

Was looking forward to this, but I haven't been well these past six weeks. I am looking forward to the next one.

I am out of town and will be until 3/25 so I'm not sure I can participate. I wish I could because the subjects look like fun. I would have to use my cell to take photo, but I will try to get some.

I'd recommend using SurveyMonkey for the voting/results - free for up to 10 questions (perfect) - works great - https://www.surveymonkey.com/pricing/?ut_source=header
