This event is fun, fun, fun, and jam packed with photo opportunities! It's a popular festival weekend, with lots of art, events, food and demonstrations, you won't want to miss it! It's the Annual Spring Unveiling in Cannon Beach!
Comments from the last beach retreat: "Wonderful weekend!! What a great group of lovely, generous women!! And fun, too!!! So glad I was able to join in the fun. Thank you."
"This weekend Dana plans and the house are awesome! Not to mention the fabulous gourmet b'fast Dana prepares."
UPDATE: 4/1/2014 I have rented a 3000+ sq/ ft. lodge home, with 3 bedroom suites, and 4.5 bathrooms!! See the photos below. There are three king beds, two futons, and another bed. You may have to share a bedroom suite, but the rooms are 400 sq feet, with kitchenettes, and the beds are king sized, quite large! We'll figure that out when we get there.
The overnight cost is $69 and includes BOTH nights (Friday/Saturday night), AND includes a fantastic breakfast Sunday morning. If you would like to bring snack food to share on for the weekend, we can also do that also.
This is a joint meetup with the Portland/Vancouver Photography Meetup Group.
IMPORTANT: Please verify with me that there is space in the house to reserve, then email me at scrapperdana(at)yahoo.com, and I will send you a payment request through paypal ($71.37, includes 2.37 in paypal fees). You must prepary to reserve your space in the house.
NOTE: I will also be asking each person to bring something to contribute for Sunday, such as melon, grapes, strawberries, bananas, raspberries or blueberries, bacon, oj, coffee and creamer. I will be making the banana nut pancakes with spiced whipped cream, and preparing plates so all you have to do is sit down and be waited on! Please note in your rsvp or comments what you will bring! This way, everyone can see it and we won't have duplicates.
Friday: For those ladies that have Friday off, come to town early and look around, then after 6pm, we'll meet at the house to unpack, unwind, and sip on tea and cocoa (or wine!) by a wood burning fire!
Saturday morning we'll be stopping at a wonderful established coffee place in town with excellent coffee and amazing pastries too, like chocolate orange or bacon blue cheese scones, to start off our day off right!
Then we'll head to town to watch the artist demonstrations, while nibbling on hors d’oeuvres, and sipping wine at the galleries. We can also check out Ecola State Park, which is quite green and lush this time of year, with wonderful views up and down the coast. I will be popping in the gallery, as I am one of the featured artists. Saturday evening, after sunset photos, we'll be dining group style at a local restaurant, that has consistently good food and good service and plenty of elbow room. Then its back to the house for more relaxing and/or wine!
Sunday morning we'll wake up to a fabulous breakfast, with freshly made banana nut pancakes with spiced whipped cream, Johnsonville sausages, OJ, coffee and fresh fruit! After that, you can head to town or the beach, or wherever you would like to roam.
