Lets spend some time checking out the 25th annual ARTS festival in Cannon Beach!
This is a popular festival weekend, with lots of art, events, food and fun! I have been to Cannon Beach many times, and know several good places to eat for breakfast/lunch and dinner, and good places for sunset shots. We can also hike at Ecola State Park, which is green and lush this time of year. Or sunset on the beach, the wave action is very picturesque in the Fall. Explore town, or just relax at the house. I'll also be stopping at a wonderful established coffee place in town with amazing scones.
I have rented a 3 bedroom, 2 bath historic beach cottage in town for our use, that is only 1.5 blocks to the beach and 2 blocks to town. Let me know if you are interested in an overnight for Friday/Saturday night, ladies only. Cost would be $59 and includes BOTH nights (Friday/Saturday night), and includes a pancake breakfast with sausages and fresh fruit, Sunday morning. If you would like to bring snack food to share on Saturday, we can also do that, or cook dinner in Saturday evening, your choice. The home will be open Friday after 3pm, if you would like to come before 6pm. See below for info on the house.
ABOUT the Festival:
This popular coastal event highlights the creative talents of a wide range of artists that includes an art walk, art gallery receptions, photography exhibits and more. Cannon Beach shops, restaurants and galleries will be hosting music, art and literary events throughout the weekend.
"Quick Draw," held at Surfsand Resort, is a festival highlight. This event kicks off the weekend of activities on Friday, November 2, as artists create their own individual "masterpieces" from raw materials in one hour. Artists will have one of their pieces of art to be auctioned. The Spotlight Event, Saturday, November 3 will be staged at the Coaster Theatre. An Evening with Curtis Salgado, vocalist, songwriter, harmonica icon.
ABOUT the House:
The home is 3 bedroom, 2 bath, sleeps 8. It is a very charming historic landmark. It was the 8th house built in Cannon Beach in 1908. It is furnished with turn of the century American antiques. The oak library table in the living room is original to the house. There are two small bedrooms downstairs, one with a antique double 1850's bed and matching dresser, and the other with two twin beds and antique armoire.
Upstairs is a very large room with one queen bed and two twins. There is a bathroom upstairs and one on the main floor. The spacious living room has a stone fireplace that houses a woodstove. There is wood that you can use for woodstove only and firepit.
There is an armoire that has surround sound TV and VCR, DVD, stereo with cassette and CD. There is a closet that has lots of games. The large country kitchen is fully equipped and has an antique harvest table that seats 10.
The backyard has a large deck with two benches. It is very quiet and private and great for sunbathing and outdoor eating.
Guests also bring their own linens: sheets & towels, as there is no washer/dryer. There are blankets and pillows available. No smoking or pets.
Email Dana at [masked] to confirm space is available before you pay! Then prepay to reserve your space in the house, through pay pal.
