So I like everyone else's photos better on these territorial views. I couldn't seem to get good clarity. Could it be my cheap kit 18-55mm lens? Can I blame it on that? :) I took a ton of photos and deleted most of them.

Thanks Rae Lynn. I do like the composition but compare the water etc. in other photos. Mine seems fuzzy. Always room for improvement! :)

I really like this image and don't mind the soft water. It adds to the overall feel of a peaceful early morning. ... But since you don't like the fuzzy look of the water, may I ask what settings you used? We might be able to troubleshoot so that you can adjust to your liking next time :)

Thanks, Cheri! So good to get different opinions. The settings were the same for these 2 photos: 55mm focal length, F11, ISO 200, 1/60sec. It's the f-stop, isn't it? :) I realize now I did take some others at F22 and the water has a different look. I was narrowing down more by composition, I guess, and wasn't "seeing" those details.

Yup, I agree; probably the f-stop. :) So many details to remember when shooting in manual... Keeps us on our toes, that's for sure. So fun tho! :o)
