NJAMP - South - Acoustic Music Meetup

Join us for an acoustic jam at Maloney’s Pub in Matawan, NJAMP-South. This is an inclusive jam, not an open mic. Members are encouraged to sing and play along the entire night. This is a new location, and for now, we will be meeting every other Wednesday. We will be meeting in the room behind the bar. Look for the folks with the musical instruments.

Maloney’s serves delicious food and has about 100 beers on tap; it is NJ’s best craft-beer bar. Most of us take a dinner break around 7:30. After dinner, we play until 11 or so. Please bring cash to pay for your dinner and drinks.

There is an evolving setlist for this meetup--see the link in the left-hand column of our site. We usually get through all of the requests, most of our "semi- permanent" songs, plus about 20 more songs out of the over five hundred or so songs in our files.

If you would like to add a song to the setlist, make sure it is posted to our site in the "Files" section (see the link in the left-hand column of the site), then post your request in the "get the conversation started" section below.

Hey -- this sounds great! Is there a separate meetup for NJAMP South? Or are events in Matawan mostly to be found in this meetup? Would love to hear more... and I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing me soon... maybe with a few friends!

Love the interaction between "the band" and other guests of the bar! So many questions about who we are and what we do, feeling like we are getting real traction with Maloney's, they are looking forward to the jams as much as us. Special shout out to Gary O's version of "Wild Horses" and Charlie showing me how "Summertime Blues" really goes!!

Wow – what a good night. The group had some great leads and harmony all around; welcome to the new players who came to check us out. We also had a few new inquiries from the bar area as well; it looks like we will add musicians next time. The bongos added a whole new dimension and fun element with guest percussionists: the bartenders, the chef and our server all meeting us in the music. A special thanks to Steve who made it out; Steve and his wife Deena are new foster parents to four-week old, Bella. See you all next jam, 4/17.
