Acoustic Music Meetup @Mannion's

The fun continues!!!

Join us for another acoustic jam at Mannion's. This is an inclusive jam, not an open mic. Members are encouraged to sing and play along the entire night.

We will be meeting on the ground floor in the side room. Look for the folks with the musical instruments.

Mannion's serves delicious food and has a nice selection of beers. Most of us take a dinner break around 7:30. After dinner, we play until they kick us out--usually around 11. Please bring cash to pay for your dinner and drinks.

There is an evolving setlist for this meetup--see the link in the left-hand column of our site. We usually get through all of the requests, most of our "semi-permantant" songs, plus about 20 more songs out of the over five hundred or so songs in our files.

If you would like to add a song to the setlist, make sure it is posted to our site in the "Files" section (see the link in the left-hand column of the site), then post your request in the "get the conversation started" section below.

Great to see and hear everyone again -- it's been too long.

Aw phooey; another five star night! That was a much better version of "Country Roads"; John would have been proud! Actually, there was a lot of great soundage last night; it was great to see everyone again, and Joe H and Jenny came, too! Awesome! When the group thinned out we were left with a little "dream team" that kept cranking great stuff out until everyone had simply had it (except Jim!). I think Joe B's "Pancho and Lefty" made my night, though...or was it Joe H's "Never Been..."? Or was it "I Know You Rider:? Or...or...or...oh, heck; it was just a great night, everyone! And a special nod to our fearless leader who somehow kept everything organised!

As always, a 5-star night. Lots of great stuff, especially at the end,"when the crowd thinned out" (gonna write that song someday).
Thanks to all for the compliments.

Another night that did not disappoint. Higgs was in da house !Spirited takes on many classics, and man did "I Know You Rider" rock with that percussion ! Thanks professor ! Buncha nice guitar solos from an increasing set of players. The after-hours jam was a real Jim H tour de force, with nice takes on "Layla" and "4&20" among others.

Got a chance to stop in for a quick song and a beer. Stayed for many songs. Fun even without my guitar. Great singers and a nice mix of songs.

Another great night! My only regret was that I did not record "Never Been to Spain"! The vocals were GREAT! IT was so good I had to stand up in the middle of the song o see who it was...now if I only knew his name...someone thank him for me! All the solos were really good. As a beginner, I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such talented musicians every Thursday night!!

Judy, that was the mighty Joe Higgins singing that one!

Another great night at Mannion's! What a treat to have Higgs in the house! He kept "Tequila Sunrise" from going off the rails. And not one, but two mandolins tonight--welcome back, Robert and Jenny! Mitch nailed the intro to "Ripple". Ed A took an extended solo somewhere in there--you gotta solo more often, bother! See y'all next week!
