NJAMP - South - Acoustic Music Meetup

Join us for an acoustic jam at Maloney’s Pub in Matawan, NJAMP-South. This is an inclusive jam, not an open mic. Members are encouraged to sing and play along the entire night. This is a new location, and for now, we will be meeting every other Wednesday. We will be meeting in the room behind the bar. Look for the folks with the musical instruments.

Maloney’s serves delicious food and has about 100 beers on tap; it is NJ’s best craft-beer bar. Most of us take a dinner break around 7:30. After dinner, we play until 11 or so. Please bring cash to pay for your dinner and drinks.

There is an evolving setlist for this meetup--see the link in the left-hand column of our site. We usually get through all of the requests, most of our "semi- permanent" songs, plus about 20 more songs out of the over five hundred or so songs in our files.

If you would like to add a song to the setlist, make sure it is posted to our site in the "Files" section (see the link in the left-hand column of the site), then post your request in the "get the conversation started" section below.

What a rowdy romp that turned out to be! Maloney's is always a hoot but they must've put something in the beer this time. At the end, a bar customer walking out at the same time I did saw that I was carrying a guitar case, and he said, "Man, that looked like a LOT of fun!"

Good time again! Applause from the bar; the flutes, the bass, the harps - the music. It doesn't get much better. As Rich said last time - even the train wrecks are fun. And the German Oktoberfest -food was an added plus. See you all in two weeks, 10/16.

love that song - do it all the time - not sure if it's on the list - but the chords aren't difficult (DCG sort of) but the fingerpicking and fingering (hammerons, puloffs) are tricky - (btw - suprisingly, it's very similar to sweet home alabama - just a different feel) - i usually have to play the flute solo up the neck - it'd be fun to try that together - wanna do any tull?
