Acoustic Music Meetup @Mannion's

The fun continues!!!

Join us for another acoustic jam at Mannion's. This is an inclusive jam, not an open mic. Members are encouraged to sing and play along the entire night.

We will be meeting on the ground floor in the side room. Look for the folks with the musical instruments.

Mannion's serves delicious food and has a nice selection of beers. Most of us take a dinner break around 7:30. After dinner, we play until they kick us out--usually around 11. Please bring cash to pay for your dinner and drinks.

There is an evolving setlist for this meetup--see the link in the left-hand column of our site. We usually get through all of the requests, most of our "semi-permantant" songs, plus about 20 more songs out of the over five hundred or so songs in our files.

If you would like to add a song to the setlist, make sure it is posted to our site in the "Files" section (see the link in the left-hand column of the site), then post your request in the "get the conversation started" section below.

Now, that was fun! Great energy, new songs, a full house, but still pretty tight coordination, Carolyn on percussion (who knew?!) newcomer Andy blows a wicked harp, and some dynamite guitar work from a bunch of us, all made for a great jam! Can you take 30 people on the road?

Hey, lol, (I didn't even know. LOL) Always wanted to get a chance to do percussion. But the energy was great, the songs were good, and of course, the people were awesome, and it was nice to meet some new people as well. Andy, you have a great voice as well.

Thanks, and I echo back the same sentiments already expressed. As Jack Nicholson once said, "You make me want to be a better (more musical) man."

Quite a boisterous night! A bit like herding cats at times, but the music shone through. Highlight of the night was Bob Cole absolutely growling out "Unchain My Heart". Bob unchained the beast on that one! I was also fortunate to catch the tail end of Bob leading the non-diners though "Sutter's Mill". And Andy O's harmonica playing was a great addition to the group.

Fil, I was sitting right by Bob, and to my utter amazement he started to sing "growing out" in a very wonderful way, Unchain My Heart (who knew?!) lol.

Bob's vocals were awesome, I agree . . . and all of you sounded great (I am playing back my digital recordings of tracks and smiling at your brilliance while wincing at my lack thereof)

Wow, thanks Bob! Surrounded by such great singers as yourself is inspiring. Only wish I had half the talent.
