NJAMP Showcase VI at Ferraro's

It's NJAMP Showcase Night at Ferraro's!

At this NJAMP Showcase  we are having 6 different groups made up of assorted NJAMP members. This is an opportunity for even more NJAMPers to show their talents.

The nights lineup, In no particular order, is:

Dan Slobodien Clan

Ed L. and Friends (Carolyn and Rich V.)

Robert and Carolyn

Sequoia (Ed A., Joe B. and Jenny G.)

Been There Done That (John M., Rich V., Dave H. and Dave B.)

Bill H., Lane G. and Jim H.

This is our sixth NJAMP Showcase Night.  The first five were very successful and lots of fun. We hope to have nights like this on a regular basis at the various NJAMP meetup locations.  At each of these Showcase events we will be featuring different NJAMP members.  If the venues are happy with the crowds we draw, we will get more opportunities to showcase the talent we have in NJAMP.  So bring yourselves, bring your families, and enjoy great food, drink and a night of quality music performed by your friends!

Ferraro's has great pizza, a full Italian menu and full bar, with reasonable prices. Support your fellow NJAMPers--come on out to see and hear several talented NJAMP acts entertain in the bar area at Ferraro's.

Ok, I give up and have to ask for help.

I'm compiling the videos, and I need ONE song title. Does anybody know the name of the song that 'Been there Done that' played between Rocky mountain way and Breakdown? Judy thought it was the Doobie brothers, but it doesn't sound anything like a Doobie brother song to me. I thought it sounded kind of like the Byrds. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Ok, It has been three days since the showcase, Wow. What an evening! thanks to Jim for doing (as always) an amazing job, and Alan for the sound system with Rich taking on the task of sound mgr as well. Everyone did such a great performance, and I am so thankful that Ed L. asked me to join him and Rich, and for Robert to ask me to team up with him. Love you guys!! It can't get any better than that!!! (maybe with a little practice LOL for me) Mike and Judy, great pics, and videos. Thanks for the memories!!

I went-- late--with visiting friends-- and had to leave early, but WOW! So impressive! So much talent in one small room! Unbelievable to think that a few years ago, most of the performers were not even playing out. Kudos to Jim, Alan & FiL for empowering this group of musicians to live our dreams. My friends were blown away. I was so proud to tell them that I've had the honor of jamming with almost everyone in the room-- performers & audience alike! NJAMP has changed so any lives-- the professionalism on display Saturday was amazing.

Just read the rest of your post and LOL. If this was China Grove and did not sound like a Doobie Brother's song, I would be packing it in. I usually introduce it as a forgotten Doobie Brother's song and one of my favorites.

    1 · March 24, 2014

    • Michael S.

It just didn't have that typical sound of a Doobie brothers song. No reflection *WHATSOVER* on your performance. You guys are all amazing.

Thanks to Jim, Alan and to all of the volunteers who helped with the load in and out and with the set up and break down. Thanks also to all of the ampers and friends who came out to support all of the great performers.

I don't know why this is, but every time I go to one of these showcases, I'm surprised and blown away by how talented every single performer in every single group is. Some people I've always known that, some people are 'sleepers', but EVERYBODY was amazing last night. Congratulations to all of them, and as always, a HUGE thank you to Jim for putting this event on. You always do a tremendous job of organizing. I've also got to say, the sound quality has improved leaps and bounds over time. The mixing and the equipment are paying off in a big way.

BTW - As Judy says, we've posted pictures, and the videos should be ready either later tonight, or tomorrow. We have video of every song by every group.

Lots of highlights last night...Dan and Sandy doing "Autumn Leaves", Sequoia doing "Kansas City", Bill doing "Buffalo Springfield Again", Jim doing "Handle Me With Care", Ed L. and Carolyn harmonizing on a bunch of songs, Carolyn singing just about anything, and Been There Done That doing "Hush". Congrats to all the performers, and to Jim for organizing, Alan from bringing the sound, Rich (and sometimes Alan) for doing the sound, all who helped set up and break down, and all who came out to show their support.

Terrific night all around. Loved seeing all our talented performers putting on a great show and and hanging out with our NJAMP friends. Special kudos to Rich for a great job on sound and the NJAMP impresario extraordinaire Jim H for putting the whole thing together.

What a fantastic night!!! It was an honor and privilege to be asked to perform. The talent level throughout the nite was exceptional, and each act was totally different. Best of all, even though it was very noisy the audience was attentive and appreciative - and all the performers were appreciative of each others' talents. A great night with a great group of people. NJAMP is very, very special. Thanks to Jim who organized it, and to Alan who supplied the great sound system.
