NJAMP - South - Acoustic Music Meetup

Join us for an acoustic jam at Maloney’s Pub in Matawan, NJAMP-South. This is an inclusive jam, not an open mic. Members are encouraged to sing and play along the entire night. We jam every other Wednesday. We will be meeting in the room behind the bar. Look for the folks with the musical instruments.

Maloney’s serves delicious food and has about 100 beers on tap; it is NJ’s best craft-beer bar. Most of us take a dinner break around 7:30. After dinner, we play until 11 or so. Please bring cash to pay for your dinner and drinks.

There is an evolving setlist for this meetup--see the link in the left-hand column of our site. We usually get through all of the requests, most of our "semi- permanent" songs, plus about 20 more songs out of the over five hundred or so songs in our files.

If you would like to add a song to the setlist, make sure it is posted to our site in the "Files" section (see the link in the left-hand column of the site), then post your request in the "get the conversation started" section below.

A very good night in the south; a wonderful, diverse song mix. It was nice to see some Mannion’s ampers as well. Thanks, FiL for coming South; it was good for the Southies to meet the wizard of the drop box and meet the man behind the curtain and maestro of the song files. South works because of the NJAMP template that was honed early on and more than that it is because of the continued dedication of all the organizers who just play on and on in the myriad of venues we all enjoy. Rock on – NJAMP.
PS: Ed Adams. Joe, our bartender wanted to know where you have been; I told him, “playing out on the road.” He said, “I knew it.” Rock on NJAMP!

I came along last-minute and forgot to RSVP, so I'll say hello here. Great evening, fun to meet our southern brethren and experience the same great NJAMP energy alive and thriving all over the state! Fun to do some new songs ... might bring a few of those to Mannion's. Thanks for a great evening!

It was great to finally make it down south! It is indeed a nice room, with excellent beer, good food, and a waitress with a fantastic voice. Bob did a wonderful job "herding the the cats". It was a treat to listen to Charlie play all night long. Fred really nailed the bass line for "Gonna Move". You guys got a good thing goin' on down there.

I had a great time playing with you all, plus you made me join the twenty-first century. I thought since I had a laptop I didn't need a tablet, you showed me the error of my ways. But, now that I have one I don't know what to do with it. Do I access your dropbox when I get there Wednesday night (and how would I do that?) or is there something I have to do before hand? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Bob, in the beginning of the chorus of People are Strange, I really think the EM should be a B7.
