North Jersey Drum Circle & Dance!

  • Mar 30, 2013 · 8:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Whether your interested in observing or participating, if you've never attended a Drum circle before, this is definitely something new, Fun & different to experience.  So come join us & experience it for yourself! Calling all Dancers & Drummers!!! You are welcome to jump in & dance or join in the drumming. If you don't have a drum, you can rent one!

This event is hosted by the popular drum facilitator, Mark Wood. For more information about Mark & drumming, please visit his website: www.woodndrums.com

The way it works: Mark starts a rhythm & everyone else follows until all the drummers are drumming at the same time and then after a while, he'll change it & everyone follows etc.  So the beat/rhythm keeps changing throughout the night. You can feel the beat inside you with the shear number of drummers  (usually around 30-50) drumming at the same time. It might make you want to get up & dance or just relax, listen or join in the drumming.

Time:   8 pm - 11 pm (doors open at 7:30pm)

Cost:    $12.00 (children under 12 admitted free) *Mark rents the space from the NJ Foundation for the blind so part of your proceeds go to them. Note: This is held Indoors. The venue holds up to 500 people.

No musical experience required. Bring your hand drum and/or percussion instruments if you have them (he will have a few to share). If you need to borrow a drum, you MUST reserve one in advance.  Please send request to: [masked]. Light snacks provided.  There will be a "grazing" table. If you'd like to bring treats to contribute that would be great. *Please keep in mind, there is no alcohol permitted.

This is a "Family Friendly" event so please feel free to invite whomever you'd like. There might also be: a tarot card reader, vendors & hula hoops. There will also be an art table set up for your creative muse to come out and play.
