I'm still determined to go kayaking on the Delaware this summer, not only because it's so much fun but also because I enjoy this part of the river. It's peaceful and serene. It isn't very rough but still fun and relaxing with class 1 rapids.
The trip: We will be taking the Bushkill Launch to Smithfield Beach. This is a scenic 10 mile trip with an estimated paddle time of 3.5 hrs. without stopping. I figured we can stop at a campsite for lunch which would add about an hour to the trip time!
Rental prices for single or two-person kayaks depend on the # of people going.
1 - 9 people: $46.00
10 - 19: $38.00
20 +: $34.00
*THE MORE PEOPLE THAT RSVP, THE BETTER THE RATE.
Price Includes: kayak, paddle, life jacket, river maps, and FREE shuttle transportation for people, luggage, and boats.

We meet at: Adventure Sports - GPS Address - Route 209 & County Bridge Road, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania 18301
Phone:[masked] Website: www.adventuresport.com
Directions: From the East (NYC and NJ) - Take I-80 West into Pennsylvania. Get off Exit #309 (Marshalls Creek). You can only go one way (209 North). They are approximately 2 miles on the left. Please check the website for more directions & further information.
*IMPORTANT INFO.* Please try to be there at least 15 min. early to fill out paperwork (wavier form), pay, etc. **Please bring enough cash for the $46.00 Kayak Rental. We will know the actual price closer to the event.** We will be collecting the money and wavier forms since we must pay as a group. To make it easier and faster, you can download the waiver form from the website: http://www.adventuresport.com/waiver.php
*After we meet at Adventure Sports to pay we will then take a 10 min. drive to Smithfield Park Beach where we leave our cars. There is a $10.00 parking fee. We cannot leave our cars at Adventure Sports. I would recommend carpooling to make it more affordable. If you see or know anyone in your area you'd be interested in car pooling with, please don't hesitate to contact them (via-email).There will be toilet facilities at both starting & ending points.
*If everything goes smoothly we should be on the river around 11:30am and back around 4:30/5:00pm. We need to be off the water no later than 6pm.
