Join us for an afternoon at Lakota Wolf Preserve in Columbia NJ (located near the Delaware Water Gap)!
Lakota Wolf Preserve houses four packs of wolves. A mix of Tundra, Timber & Arctic wolves.
The Preserve is located in Camp Taylor, private camp ground.
The tour starts on a 15min. walk or bus ride (depending on the weather) through the camp to the preserve.
The wolves are in a well gated area of the park. You'll be invited into the observation area, in the center of four packs of wolves. During the informal talks with the people who raise and care for the wolves, you'll learn about the social structure of wolf packs, their eating habits, their interaction with man and many other interesting facts. Please feel free to ask the guide(s) any questions you have and they'll be happy to answer.
Following, you'll be guided to also see bobcats & fox and will learn about them as well in a different gated area of the preserve.
For more information about Lakota Wolf Preserve, please visit: http://www.lakotawolf.com
*Photo's FYI* You're allowed to take pictures of the animals but you'll be abt. 5 ft. from the chained linked fence which will be in your shots. You can try to get some great shots between the links if your lucky, depending on your zoom capabilities. :-)
If you want to get great professional shots without the obstruction of a chain link fence, you'll have to make a reservation for another time for their Photography private tour. See their web site for more info.
Fee: $15.00/Adult + Tax = $16.05 Total **(CASH ONLY)**They do not accept credit cards. Since we have a reservation, we'll be paying as a group and I'll be collecting the money upon arrival.
Meeting Spot: We'll be meeting at Tunnel Field (Knowlton Twp. Rec. Park) at 2pm - located approx. 2.5 mi, 10 min. from the Preserve . We're meeting here first due to limited parking & the fact they're very strict about what time you can park in the Camp lot.
Also, since we're paying as a group, I'll be collecting everyone's entrance fee at this time. This will allow us time to get the group together, collect everyone's $ and car pool for those interested, to the Preserve. We'll be leaving promptly at 2:15-2:20pm (no later) so please be on time.
We must All be at the Camp/Preserve lot no later then 2:30pm.
Tour is approx. 1.5 - 2hrs.
*There are Restrooms and a Gift Shop (accepts credit cards) on the premises*
The gift shop will be open till 5pm.
*PLEASE DRESS WARM* (layers) We'll be outside for the duration of the Tour. The Preserve is on a Ridge and it's always colder up there compared to the valley where we're meeting first.

Hey everyone! I finally had a chance to go through my pictures from the Lakota preserve. I'm not a professional photographer, but I did my best with it. I had taken close to 90 pictures. Enjoy!

Hi folks
Many of us in the NYC suburbs areas got hit hard by hurricane Sandy and we have massive gas shortages here. I am not sure if I have enough gas in my car to come for this meetup and I certainly dont wanna wait 4-5 hours in line for gas.
So was wondering if anyone is near my area (Jersey City/Hoboken) so I can carpool with them? Will split the $$ for the Gas/ Tolls ofcourse..
If not, I guess I probably will not come then.
Thanks!
