Announcing a new Meetup for NJ/PA/NY 20-30's OUT & ABOUT!

What: Hike at Harriman State Park NY (Moderate)

When: Sunday, August 22,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Harriman State Park
Reeves Visitor Center Seven Lakes Drive
Sloatsburg, NY 10974

Hi Everyone,

This is a scenic hike along a stream, passing deciduous and fur trees, up a hill to a beautiful lake. Approx. 5.4 miles, 3-4 hours. Level is moderate.

There will be a stop for lunch and water breaks along the way. Please bring at least two bottles of water and something to eat.

Wear sneakers or hiking boots, there are a few areas that are rocky.

*Dogs on leash*
Carry in carry out, there are no garbage cans around, please bring a bag for garbage.
There is a visitors center with trail maps for sale and bathroom facilities but they sometimes don't open till late morning so please bring toilet paper just in-case.

*Don't forget your camera if your into photography :-)

We're still on unless it rains that day. This isn't the kind of hike that would be safe in the rain.

From NJ/NYC: Take Rt. 287 North or 17 North to the Thruway (87 North). Take the first exit: 15A - Sloatsburg. Make a Left at the light and follow for approx. 2 miles through the town of Sloatsburg.
Make a Right at a light onto 7 Lakes Dr. (green sign). Go approx. 1.5 miles and visitors center will be on your Right. Usually the lot is full and there is plenty of parking on the street.

Public Transportation:
There are buses to Sloatsburg and a near by train station.
If you need a lift from the train station to the park, I can fit 3 people in my car.

Please shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions.
Look forward to seeing you!

Mel smile
