Re: [NJLinux] Software freedom day: supplies still needed!

BTW, barring disaster, I will be able to show up for setup, and stick around until 1 or 2 PM. I have a laptop, and can also bring a portable (battery powered) color inkjet to make a few on the spot signs. The table is a card table (3' by 3'). Even if somebody can just show up at the end and take it and the chairs, I'll set them up, but I REALLY don't want to sacrifice them.

Hey,

Software freedom day is tomorrow.  We still have stuff that we need!

Most urgently needed items are:

  • Someone to take away the table and chairs at the end of the event (i.e. sometime after 5pm). Bart has tentatively offered to bring them at the start of our event, but he cannot take them away. If you can supply your own table and chairs and take them away, that would be even better.

  • Someone to bring and/or take away a computer monitor, preferably one that's usable in bright light. I'm planning to bring my laptop for demonstrations, but its display is unusable in outdoor daylight.

  • Someone to bring and/or take away a rug/stair mat to cover the power cord. The fallback is my roll of duct tape, which I suspect wouldn't be as good.

I will be there during the whole event (12-5pm) to hold our spot; I expect to arrive a little early (about 11:15am or 11:30am) to help setup.

I can only transport those supplies that I already have at my house and that can fit into a bookbag or a handbag.  I'm relying on public transit, so lugging furniture with me is not an option, nor can I pick up anything today.

The table below represents my understanding of what we need and who's bringing what. I've volunteered to bring everything that I think I can manage, but do please lighten my load and volunteer if you can bring anything here:

I haven't yet looked into the matter of what free software to bring on DVD's or demonstrate on the computer. I know there's been some activity
