All About The Hardware - Interesting Gizmos and Gadgets

Come join us at NJMUG's November general meeting where we will be focusing on interesting hardware, gadgets and gizmos for your Apple devices.

The following topics will be covered:

Bruce Mittelman will be giving a demonstration of Sphero, the robotic ball gaming system for iOS. Sphero is the world's first robotic ball that you control with a tilt, touch, or swing from your smartphone or tablet. You can drive Sphero, play tabletop and multiplayer games, hold Sphero in your hand to use it as a controller for on-screen gameplay, learn basic programming, and even explore augmented reality. Bruce will also demo some Augmented Reality apps for the iPad. Apps will include Layar,Spacecraft HDPopPhoto InteractiveMarvel AR, and IKEA Catalog.

Bob Helmond will demonstrate a USB microscope and how it can be used to to get up close and detailed views of any object.

Jerry Gherardi will be show off his SCOTTeVEST. SCOTTeVEST is a manufacturer of cool and innovative travel clothes with special pockets designed to let you take everything with you.

Jen Bissu will give her monthly "3 Things You Should Know" segment, with this month's items focused around our hardware theme.

Allan Warner will give a USB Trackball demonstration and show how it offers an ergonomic alternative to the traditional computer mouse.

Jerry Glacken will give a quick demonstration of SurfEasy, a unique USB key that combines leading-edge, encrypted Internet security technology within a portable, credit card-sized form factor. SurfEasy enables anyone to easily ensure their online privacy and freedom on any computer or network.
