hike in dunes, lets train before Zandvoort walkathon!

How about walking a bit before Zandvoort walkathon?! My idea is to start from the bus stop "Waterleiding/Nieuw Unicum" in Zandvoort and follow the route called "LAW 5-2 Hollands Kustpad" until we reach the beach at the street Langevelderslag, Noordwijk. Then we could continue along the beach all the way to Zandvoort or in case of very strong wind we could hide and pass through Amsterdamse Waterleiding and go to Zandvoort. The route is around 20km but I am planning to walk on a slow pace. 20km is an optimistic plan. In case of nasty weather there are plenty of possible shortcuts on the way, so we can be flexible. Anybody up?

    Travelling from Amsterdam Centraal:
    1. Intercity (direction to Den Haag Centraal) at 10:27 platform 2a, it arrives 10:48 to Heemstede-Aerdenhout

    2. from Heemstede-Aerdenhout you take Bus 80 (direction to Zandvoort) at 11:05, arrives to Waterleiding/Nieuw Unicum, at 11:17 ( I should be in the bus already)

Go to http://9292.nl/ and put your home address as starting point and Waterleiding/Nieuw Unicum as a destination and set the time and it finds you the best connection. I hope it helps. Let me know any trouble.

You will need a ticket to enter Amsterdamse Waterleiding (1.50 per day). It is a beautiful area by the way, I have been hiking there last Friday. Lots of deer walking around and many little cute rivulets to walk by. As an alternative, how about just doing a hike in there? For example, there is an entrance "De Oase" near Heemstede and a nice pancake restaurant nearby. So one could enter there, have a hike for several hours (there are two clearly marked routes which could be taken, but in principle you can walk anywhere inside the area, also outside of the paths) and then come back and have some pancakes and/or Irish coffee, gluhwein or hot chocolate, how would that sound? ;-)

I will try to join you unless I am overloaded with stuff, really liked the area. And I agree, it might be better to choose the location available by the public transport. Doesn't matter to me because I live nearby, but I guess I am the only one :)

Anna: have you ever done any part of the route called "LAW 5-2 Hollands Kustpad"? I wanted to follow this one, as I expect it to be special ;-) I hope you are coming :)
