In coordination with Brabant Adventurers!
Are you tired of flat hikes? do you want to climb real mountain? see some snow? Then this is the trip for you, a long weekend trip into the french alps, 3 valleys region. I personally lived in a little village called St Martin de Belleville and its a real magic place. Old village with some great mountains surrounding it.
You really have a pick of hikes, you can catch a gondola/chairlift and stroll around the top or hike to many peaks, even up to about 3800m (village is at 1600m), I would need to decide on where exactly closer to the time as depends on weather and fitness of the people.
There are plenty of restraints there ranging in price from 10 euro burger to 100 michlin star restraint. we could also eat in.
We can catch a train to Moutiers, and taxi to the village however that is expensive and then limits your movements once there. I dont mind renting a car and sharing the cost/petrol should be about the same price and give you the freedom of going to Val thorens or Les Menuires which are larger towns down the road. hoping to keep it under 100pp (car of 4) if we have more than that wanting to come i can look at a minibus.
There is 3 hotels in the village however I do have some connections with the lady who owns the bar (bar is mostly closed in summer) in town and she has self catering, she can give us a good price and be much nicer. Depending on numbers but probably between 20-30 pp pn, hotels are about 40-50pn
Other than hiking:
Well there is the view :) but you can go mountain biking or even sking in Val Thorens. There is clubs and bars in the valley and cinema (itll all be in french though)
Let me know if you would like to go and i can work out the numbers and I can work out the final costs other cost would be your insurance for recovery from the mountain (can be bought on lift pass for 2euro per day), lift pass, which depends on the area you want to use it in http://en.lesmenuires.com/summer/outings-with-the-skilifts-1528.htm and of course food.
