This is a scenic bike tour in pursuit of a delicious and authentic Japanese noodle soup in a beautiful small town by the Amstel river. A tour to enjoy Amstel in all its autumn glory!
If you like a laid-back Sunday biking and a succulent pork noodle soup for lunch to be enjoyed with some like-minded people…. why not join us? :)
Rain or shine, we commit ourselves, so bring a rain gear. Keep in mind that if it is windy then we might need to bike against the wind during most part of the journey.
Here is the plan:
Meetup location: Diemen Zuid station car parking.
We start from
Diemen Zuid station (metro+train) at 09:30
Coffee break at Amstelveen 10:30
Restaurant Raku, Uithoorn 11:30 ish
Total journey 25 Kilometers (one side)
After Lunch we have two options.
Options 1: End the trip at Metro station Westwijk, Amstelveen. You could end the trip and take your bike in Metro (5 KMs).
Options 2: We could bike back through the other side of Amstel and finish our trip in Amsterdam at Cocos pub, Rembrandtplein(40 KMs). Westwijk metro station is in the same route.
You may choose your option after lunch.
Check out the restaurant and the lunch menu: http://www.restaurantraku.nl
Since it is a very small restaurant this trip can accommodate only 15 people max. Even then we might need to wait in turn, as booking is not possible. But isn't it worth the wait! and the bike! :)
Considering the demand we are increasing the number to 20! Restaurant will be opened half an hour early to accommodate us all in one go!! That means 2 things
1) We start early, 9:30 AM sharp, to reach restaurant between 11:30-11:45
2) We call the restaurant and order lunch Sunday when we meet at 9:30 in the morning.
All Ramen contains a slice of pig meat(varken vlees) Miso and Soya are just the flavour options if you select lunch menu. Vegetarian food is not possible to order nor another meat (like beef/chicken).
