Hi, I have kitesurfed for 7-8 years now so rather good, I have a training kite in london im planning on bringing here in the next couple of weeks or so. If someone in the Eindhoven area or want to go to the beach sometime can have a play with it to learn the ropes

Hi, I'm also a complete beginner but it sounds really cool, so if it's planned in advance and can take time from work, I'll definately join :)

I went out at Oostvorne last fall...very crowded but protected from waves and good for beginners. Bouwersdam is another good spot. Anyway, count me in, maybe with one or two other Delft enthusiasts.

This is the link I saw before:http://www.flyingpig.nl/things-to-do-noordwijk/extreme-sports/kitesurfing.php
and kite crowd are a good source of info:http://forum.kitecrowd.com/kitesurfing/kitesurfing-instruction-near-amsterdam-155279.html
I will definitely organise it, I did a bit of research before coming but will do more nearer the time and find us a decent school so keep the suggestions coming! And Ashleigh I know about all this shortening as I work with Aussies, they already have me saying doco!

Wijk aan zee is a shortcut for "Beverwijk aan Zee". Small village, laid back mentality, with a strong focus on locals. Noordwijk has a boulevard plus some top of the bill hotels, the national Dutch football team always gathers there. Noordwijk is more fancy than Wijk aan Zee but without being arrogant like Zandvoort sometimes is or seems to be. My vote goes to Noordwijk :)
BTW because of dancing and football I've got a busted knee so I will just join for the fun - but I WILL be there :)
As far as I am concerned this is a Great suggestion Ashleigh! Noordwijk just like Wijk aan Zee is easy to reach. Its also a beach that focusses on friends and families and not on singles as far as I know, so the Zandvoort mentality wont be there I assume. Its closer to The Hague, Brabant and Rotterdam than Wijk aan Zee. Also the place offers more quality.
Wijk aan Zee is more windy, that's a small diference. But both sites have a strong wind blowing from the sea most of the time anyway.
Ashleigh, I really don't want this to sound mean, just funny (looking :P) but did you google maps before you asked? I see that you found this meetup group via google :)nice of you for the weekend offer.
I can also offer to share a green wheels car (I have a card) for the people living in Ams.
in the end the organizer or asst. organizers of this group has to actual organize it and post it as an event :)
Badalona, which is very close to Barcelona, migt be an option for late march. According to people in my network there badalona is windy place. Its a popluar kite serving location.
In early spring the prices are good and the water is always warm there ( well not cold )
if people want to know more about this lets hear it otherwise I will only command on wijk aan zee ( I grew up in that area )

I heard good things from Dutch people about the course at Wijk...
great!I did only yachting when I was young :) I heard from a friend that you can take lessons in Zanvort. I believe we need to take some days off (a week?) and do only this :)
if I know from advance maybe i will join.complete beginner of course :)
Nice idea - Ill come to take pictures :)
I've got 3 suggestions for the place: Spain or Portugal in the early spring or Texel in late spring for weekends, Wijk aan Zee for a one day event.
Looking forward to joining in the fun!
