A major weekend of Latin music continues with The Latin Big Band show featuring the compositions of pianist/composer/arranger Mariano Morales and the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra. After a set on their own, the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra will be joined on-stage by Mariano along with members of Mariano's Latin jazz group, Pikante which features some of the top Latin jazz musicians performing today.
As a performer and recording artist (violin and piano), Mariano has worked with leading pop figures such as: Andrea Bocelli, Tito Puente, Marc Anthony, Dave Valentín, Giovanni Hidalgo, Marco Antonio Muñiz, Franco D’ Vita, Ricardo Arjona, Ednita Nazario, Los Hispanos, and Tego Calderón, among others and as guest pianist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra and the Arturo Somohano Philharmonic Orchestra. His work in the pop music scene also includes musical direction, musical arrangements and jingle productions for television commercial spots, commercial recordings and televised specials. Mariano has received numerous commissions and his works have been performed by various distinguished ensembles such as: the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, and the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, among others.
