I've been wanting to go Downtown to photograph the buildings and sights at night. There should plenty of opportunity for some interesting angles, colored lights, and time-lapse traffic shooting, etc. Are you game?
We will meet at 7:15 PM at the NE corner of Civic Plaza (Corner of 3rd St. and Marquette Ave). Sunset should be around 7:20 this night so we may have some cool sunset/twilight city shots when we first get there. Who knows?
On Sundays there is no charge for street meter parking. If we should have to park in the Parking Garage, each vehicle will have to pay for their own parking fees. Probably wise to bring a few dollars cash just in case. I don't anticipate that you won't be able to find a space on the street, but I want to make sure that you are prepared.
Disclaimer: I worked the night shift Downtown for over a year and never had any issues. If you respect others and smile or say "hello" then they generally act in kind and don't bother you. If you are too timid to have a homeless person possibly walk by and speak to you, then maybe this isn't a shoot for you. Not that I anticipate any problems, but it is Downtown so don't be shocked if a drunk should stagger by. As a group we can stay close enough to watch out for one another.
I'm limiting this to 18 so that I can better keep track of everyone. If this one fills-up don't worry, I'll be planning a repeat in the future. Please be courteous and cancel your RSVP if you can't make it after saying that you will. Then I won't wait for you to show up. :)
