NOA Meeting "Shades of Grey"

This meeting's book is Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde. Although we normally meet at Southdale B&N, this month we will be meeting at Jake's in Eagan.

Overview from B&N website:

Welcome to Chromatacia, where the societal hierarchy is strictly regulated by one's limited color perception. And Eddie Russet wants to move up. But his plans to leverage his better-than-average red perception and marry into a powerful family are quickly upended. Juggling inviolable rules, sneaky Yellows, and a risky friendship with an intriguing Grey named Jane who shows Eddie that the apparent peace of his world is as much an illusion as color itself, Eddie finds he must reckon with the cruel regime behind this gaily painted façade.

So, i am in Knoxville TN, for my father-in-laws funeral & burial. So... I can't make it.

I'm afraid I won't be making it tonight. I apologize for the late notice (and the uncertainty, I might get free in time). There's an issue with my job search that I need to sort out. Great book.

We might have been over this, but if we're not meeting at the bookstore, how are we selecting the next book?

I have a book I can bring for a "show & tell" - maybe everyone else can do the same?

Good idea Barb. Also for those of you that have e-readers, you can look up books there for covers/book blurbs...

Hi, I'm new to this group! Started reading the book this weekend, wondering if there's anything specific I should take note of for the book club discussion?

      Not particularly, we're pretty informal.

We are very informal. If you don't finish the book in time that is okay too. Looking forward to seeing you.

Hey everyone. I'm brand new to the group, and I'm planning on making this my first meet-up. I just picked up the book today. I look forward to meeting all of you.
