Meetup Description: This meetings book is Quicksilver (Baroque Cycle Series, Quicksilver, Part 1) by Neal Stephenson

There are two different Quicksilver books. The full Quicksilver book is divided into three parts. We are just reading part one, which is also sold as a separate book. (Look for the softcover book that is 456 pages and you will have the right one.... or get the other longer edition and just read the part one) If you are confused feel free to email me.

Synopsis from Barnes & Noble website
In which Daniel Waterhouse, fearless thinker and courageous Puritan, pursues knowledge in the company of the greatest minds of Baroque-era Europe ? in a chaotic world where reason wars with the bloody ambitions of the mighty, and where catastrophe, natural or otherwise, can alter the political landscape overnight.

New York Times Review by Polly Shulman
Stephenson clearly never intended Quicksilver to be one of those meticulously accurate historical novels that capture ways of thought of times gone by. Instead, it explores the philosophical concerns of today...At its best, the novel does this through thrillingly clever, suspenseful and amusing plot twists.
