Morning Wordless Walk at Jean Lafitte

Come to the cypress-tupelo-oak forest on Saturday morning to rejuvenate your soul in nature. A lovely silent walk on some of the less well-known trails at Barataria. We'll meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Pecan Grove parking lot (across the road from the Visitor Center Parking)  enjoying the less crowded (often empty) woodland trails.  We'll chat at the beginning to get to know each other, then walk silently to  soak in the magic of the woods, then group up and share our discoveries.  Dress for the weather - we walk rain or shine, cool or warm!

Had a great time listening to birds, feeling the wind, and sloshing through the water. Great group, enjoyed their company.

It was great meeting you too Linda! Again, thank you for your laughter. And FYI, it took a lo-ong time to clean the mud out from underneath my toenails. I guess you just can't win against nature!

Another magical morning in the wetlands! So nice to be warm after that big freeze! Mud between the toes felt amazing! What a brave and awesome group - so grateful to share the morning with you all!

Hi everyone! So looking forward to time in nature after being cooped up in the cold this week! I was just in the wetlands yesterday at Jean Lafitte and it was beautiful! Remember we meet at the Pecan Grove parking area. This is across the road and not far from the Visitor Center parking area. The sign says "Education Center/Pecan Grove trails" or something like that. There are signs right by the turn whichever way you approach on Barataria Boulevard, so just look for them! If you get totally turned around, they'll be able to point you in the right direction at the Visitors Center, but really, it's not hard to find!

Please contact me at[masked] if you have any questions or need help.

Would anyone be able to give me a ride from Mid-City? I don't have a car, but would love to attend.

Sounds lovely and I'll be at the next one when the weather's a bit warmer, promise. Getting around right now on a scooter is a bit hit-and-miss with cold.
