I may be a wimp, but I really don't feel like going out in this rain. If I am not the only one and you decide to reschedule, let me know because I would really like input on this crazy novel!!
Thanks,
Myra

Subject: [NOLA-boozenbooks] New Meetup: Meetup 2: Movies are good, books are better

Announcing a new Meetup for booze n' books group NOLA!

What: Meetup 2: Movies are good, books are better

When: December 15,[masked]:00 PM

RSVP fee: $2.00 per person

Where:
Mimi's in the Marigny
2601 Royal St
New Orleans, LA 70117
[masked]

The Moviegoer, by Walker Percy
A classic New Orleans novel, discussed over drinks in the Marigny.

Our vote was tied between this and White Tiger by Adiga. I have read White Tiger a couple of times, so I broke the tie with a vote for Walker Percy.

Buy it local at Maple Street Book Shop. They are going to order extra copies, and they always have some in stock. Mention that this is for a book club and get 10% off at Maple. Alternately, buy it online from url=http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=personalspace-20&o=1&p=8&l=as1&m=amazon&f=ifr&md=10FE9736YVPPT7A0FBG2&asins=0375701966] Amazon[/url]. This book should also be easy to find at the library and at any other local book store.

Based on overwhelming votes in the affirmative, I am charging a $2 RSVP to ensure some dedication and to help cover the $20 monthly cost of Meetup.com.

Mimi's in the Marigny just squeezed out the other choices for location. If it turns out that they will have live music while we are scheduled to meet, I will choose a new place.
