Stewardship Workday (LandPaths) at the Riddell Preserve

Give nature a hand! LandPaths at the stunning, 400-acre Riddell Preserve for a day of stewardship, community-building, a bit of exercise and some fun! During this workday, we will hike approximately 1 mile to the only known patch of yellow star thistle and remove it. The Riddell Preserve is a rugged natural area with very few trails. Volunteers should come preapred for off-trail hiking with some steep sections and unsure footing. No experience necessary. LandPaths will provide neccessary tools, but feel free to bring your own if you have them. Helpful tools for this workday include hand pruners and reusable weed bags. Meeting Time, Location & Directions:

We will meet at 9:00 am at the parking lot of the City Corporation Yard at 550 Westside Rd, Healdsburg, CA 95448. We will carpool to the preserve from the shelter and get back to the parking lot by 1pm. Directions to the Corporation Yard parking lot-
From Highway 101 North, take the Central Healdsburg Exit. and make a slight left on Healdsburg Avenue. Turn left onto Mill Street. Continue under the highway overpass as Mill Street turns into Westside Road. The Corporation Yard parking lot will be on the left immediately before the bridge crossing at the intersection of Westside Rd and Lucius Way. There is a "Corporation Yard" sign at the entrance to the parking lot. From Highway 101 South, take the Westside Exit and turn right on Westside Rd. The Corporation Yard parking lot will be on the left immediately before the bridge crossing at the intersection of Westside Rd and Lucius Way. What to Bring:

Picnic lunch, snacks & water, backpack
Sturdy boots or shoes that can get muddy
Work gloves; LandPaths will have some if you do not own any.
Long Pants Recommended
Eye protection
Hat and sun screen Details Details:

You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
There is a flush toilet on the property, but might be unavailable depending on location of work
There is no potable water available on the property.
No pets or smoking are permitted.
