Secular Lobbying IMPACT!

Sterling, VA
Post #: 3
Congrats to those who lobbied Congress in April, and thanks to those who support Secular Coalition for America!

Our Lobbying Day action has had results: We lobbied to remove religious privilege from the tax code, and the recomendations from the congressional committee agrees with us! There's a long way to go befor tax reform is completed, but it has started off right. We asked for 3 exemptions to be removed to create an equal playing field. All 3 were on their list:
1. Require churches to apply for 501(c)3 - currently automatic without appliccation
2. Require annual return to be filed - currently exempt
3. Eliminate audit restrictions that currently have exempted ALL churches from audits for the last several years.
