"Semantic Search and Recommendation using Solr and Hadoop" John Berryman, Enterprise Search Architect, Opensource Connections
"Taming Text: How to Find, Organize and Manipulate It" Thomas Morton, Executive Director, Search & Discovery, Comcast
Taming Text is a hands-on, example-driven guide to working with unstructured text in the context of real-world applications. Thomas will discuss the book and how to automatically organize text using approaches such as full-text search, proper name recognition, clustering, tagging, information extraction, and summarization. He'll share examples illustrating each of these topics, as well as the foundations upon which they are built.
Presentations on Apache Solr/Lucene will be followed by community member discussions. Then we'll hang out and socialize with food and beverages courtesy of our sponsors from Comcast.
