I cannot make it tomorrow, but I am very interested in the topic. Is there a way that you can share the material that you are presenting or can recommend some references?

    Thanks.

Hi Ben. I'm going to make a PDF available on the website for NovaLabs, on the website for the Preppers. It won't be as good as discussion in the class, but it will give an overview. Depending on interest, we'll determine if we should do another 101 class, a more specific area, or move onto another subject.

Hello everyone! It looks like we have a lot of interest, with a wide variety of applications. If you did not RSVP on the Prepper Meet-up Group and are a Maker member, please join us if you are interested. We will cover as much as possible tomorrow, and if we need to do an additional class for specialty areas, we'll get that scheduled soon. If anyone has suggestions for upcoming Prepping/ Resiliency classes, please bring those too. It looks like Aquaponics and Bug out Vehicles are two so far.

Please just show up. I'd rather have people there, then not. We're figure out logistics tomorrow.

And honestly, I'd love to see what you're doing. Part of my professional background is in commercial fleets and I've fabbed some bug out vehicles myself, even though that wasn't what we called them. We drove them all the way to Alaska in the 90's.

IMHO I dont want to join another group to do events through this group. If you are having an event and advertising it let me sign up through here--not join another group.

I agree. We did it both places for the HAM radio class, and we were missing Preppers at the event, and now, we're missing Makers. I am a member of both groups, and the idea is to have both groups participate. The Meet-up RSVP is still a work in process.

Breaking News as of April 4, 2013 ! "Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell approved legislation directing the State Corporation Commission (SCC) to conduct a pilot program allowing for certain types of power purchase agreements (PPAs). " see http://solaroutreach.org/2013/04/04/solar-ppa-virginia/#.UV7ea6KTiWU for more information. I will be covering this development and what effect(s) it may have on your solar system during the class.

Hello! I'll be teaching this class, since this is my field. If you have any particular questions you would like to have answered, please feel free to send them to me in advance.

I won't have time to cover how to build a solar panel, but I will bring plenty of literature from various vendors, and all the information I can manage from various training classes from manufacturers and various electricians and engineers. If we need more time on more technical solar, we'll do another more intensive solar class. If we are ready to jump into another subject, we'll do that. BTW, I do not sell residential solar any longer, so no sales pitch!
