For everyone interested in 3d Printing - we're holding the kickoff meeting for Build Group #5 (BG#5) next Monday, February 17, 2014 at 8pm.
Who: People interested in participating in BG#5
What: Organizational Kickoff Meeting - Get the Details, Be First to Sign Up!
Where: Nova Labs - Large Classroom
When: Monday, February 17, 2014 - 8pm
Why: 3d printers are cool, and now's a great time to join the community!
The 3d printer build groups are a chance to participate in a group build of your very own 3d printer. Each person pays for and receives a box containing all of the parts necessary to build a working 3d printer. Weekly build meetings are available for people that want to work on their printer kit at Nova Labs, or you can take your kit home and build it there. The kit includes written instructions with photos, plus a set of build videos that cover assembly and calibration of the printer.
At the meeting, we' ll show off the printer model we're using for this build group, and discuss the available options and upgrades. We'll also be launching the signup website at the meeting.
Unable to Attend?:
For anyone unable to attend the meeting, we'll post an announcement to the 3d Printing mailing list at the end of the meeting with all the details, and we'll have an informal follow-up meeting on Tuesday night (February 18, 2014) if you just want to see the printer in action.
BG#5 Tentative Timeline:
The tentative timeline for this build group is:
February 17 - 8pm - Kickoff Meeting
February 18 - 8pm - Informal Backup Kickoff Meeting (only for people that can't make the Feb 17 meeting)
March 3 - Signup Deadline for BG#5 - all kit parts get ordered.
Beginning of April - Kits components are assembled and available for pickup at Nova Labs
Why to come on Monday:
This build group will have a limited number of slots, so attending the kickoff meeting will give you a jump on the signup process.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
P.S. For anyone who has heard about the Misumi deal for $150 of free products for new customers until the end of the month, we're in the process of figuring out how to make this work with the build group, and we'll have more details at Monday's meeting.
