Introduction to Fritzing

Fritzing is an open-source hardware initiative that makes electronics accessible as a creative material for anyone. It offers a software tool, a community website and services in the spirit of Processing and Arduino, fostering a creative ecosystem that allows users to document their prototypes, share them with others, teach electronics in a classroom, and layout and manufacture professional printed circuit boards (PCBs).

This class with cover:

• What is Fritzing.

• How to document circuits with Fritzing.

• How to create a part with Fritzing.

• How to layout a circuit board with Fritzing.

• How to export your circuit board for production.

There is a nominal charge ($20) for this class, to fund Nova Labs.

Please park in the commuter parking lot across the street.

*** See http://nova-labs.org/contact/#parking for map and parking details. ***

Great class - perfect pace and nice introduction to the software.

What do you say we get together once in a while just to touch base and see how we're doing? A little like the Arduino group does? Any takers? Maybe the first Monday of the month?

I really enjoyed the class. Thanks!

Very good. I didn't need an in depth class, just enough to know that was I was doing okay and to help build my confidence.

Good topic - was able to learn most of what I needed to get started with the open source project. Craig was able to answer yje geoups questions

Will this class be given again anytime soon?

      If there's sufficient demand, yes.

    Hi,

I have a couple of questions about this session:

    1) What kind of background in electronics is needed for this class; and 2) What kinds of projects would this position students to do?

    Thanks,

    Chris

      1) About the amount you might need to play with an Arduino: the ability to distinguish a resistor from a LED.
      2) Fritzing is a tool to help you capture a circuit that you've already prototyped, and turn it into a Printed Circuit Board that could be used to reproduce the circuit reliably.
