NSCoder August

NSCoder nights are events for OS X and iOS developers. Come and join us for an evening of coding and camaraderie! We're a code-focused group, so you'll almost certainly want to bring your own computer. Power and wi-fi are provided.

This month we are going to start the OpenGL ES book club! The book:

Learning OpenGL ES for iOSUse the informit.com coupon code "IUGD45" for a 45% discount on the eBook or code "USERGROUP" for 35% off the dead tree edition. You might get a better deal (free shipping?) on Amazon, which is worth checking out too.

The book club events will run approximately every 2 weeks on Tuesdays. These are still regular NSCoder nights too, so feel free to attend and work on whatever you want even if you aren't following along with the book.

Bring your laptop, an idea, your mad coding skills – and build something cool. NSCoder night is an opportunity to socialize, ask questions, write code, and get some immediate feedback all at the same time.

A great crowd tonight! Sorry I didn't get to chat with everyone but I did get more than one line of code written, and one tweet composed.

I feel bad about missing the first night of the book club, but won't be able to make it. I will be at the iOS development meet up on the 28th and likely at the next NSCoder.

In case everyone didn't see the post in the forums, I figured I'd mention this here. We are hoping to be at the end of chapter 2 by this meetup.

Oops. Didn't realize I had already mentioned that here! Sorry, I've been a little out of it. Was off in the Dominican getting married. :)

You're married a week and already an old man losing his memory! ;)

Tip: You can use "Safari to Go" to read "Leaning OpenGL ES for iOS" on your iPad using a subscription payment model instead of buying the book outright. It's useful if you read multiple programming books.
