There are spaces available for someone who wants to join our next Intermediate Practice Group meeting.
If you're interested and have the experience described below then join us!
Vicki Lapp and Earl Wagner organize and facilitate a local practice group to meet our needs for community, empathy, and growth and we’ve got space for a few others with NVC experience to join.
The group is based on these aspects:
To support communication and shared reality, we’ll talk about what is alive for us in our lives outside of the group, and also what’s happening in the communication within the group.
To support self-connection and growth, we’ll aim to remain attentive to feelings and needs. We’ll continually translate jackal language to needs-based giraffe language, and support each other in this process.
To support empathy, connection, and community, while participating we’ll agree to refrain from non-empathy (e.g. analysis, diagnosis, and blame) and advice unless specifically requested.
To ensure that everyone is on the same page, we’re looking for other participants who are already experienced with NVC. We’re assuming you already have the ability to recognize Observations, Feelings, Needs, and Requests, and Strategies. We do not intend to teach these concepts within the group. Instead, this will be an opportunity to discover and share how they appear in our lives.
The group meets in a private home in Alameda twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 7-9pm. The cost is $5 per meeting.
We would like to keep this group to a limited size to assure effectiveness and support intimacy and connection. If you haven't attended before, please call Earl Wagner at[masked] or Vicki Lapp at[masked] to share your interest and discuss if the group is a fit for you.
