Whiteoak Canyon

A Level Hike - Shenandoah National Park

We will meetup at Centreville Park and Ride to form carpools and then drive to the trail-head. Please arrive a few minutes before 8AM

Experience Whiteoak Canyon in its winter magnificence on this strenuous 10 mile circuit hike on the premier, scenic trail in the SNP. We will climb Whiteoak Canyon Trail, walk through the Limberlost, cross over Crescent Rock Trail, and return down Cedar Run Trail. Expect to see spectacular water falls, wide ranging vistas, and magnificent scenery. Elevation gain is 3000'.

Hike rating is based on both the linear distance and elevation change with 400 feet of climbing considered equivalent to 1 mile linear distance. The ratings are:

A=Difficult (greater than 13 miles)

B=Moderately Difficult (10-13 miles)

C=Moderate (7-10 miles)

D=Easy (less than 7 miles)
