Cherry Blossom Hike

About 8-10 meandering miles of hiking in Washington, DC. Moderate pace (2.5 - 3 miles/hour). Star attraction will be the cherry blossoms in the Tidal Basin, but many prominent DC attractions will also be featured. Lunch en route in a sit-down restaurant with cloth napkins ($20?). Hike will end at a Metro station (probably Chinatown). Bring money for lunch and Metro ride. Good urban hiking shoes are a must. Dress for the weather. This hike is rated a "B" (moderately difficult). Leader: Mano Malayanur[masked](C). Meet at Rosslyn Metro outside the fare gates.

A very nice urban hike, thanks to Mano. And no raindrops fell until after our lunch, when we disbanded to take different metrorail lines to our homes. But except for a spray or two on a few trees, the cherry blossoms were not blossoming.

Will there be enough bloom since the peak days are moved out by a week? how long will the hike take? I have to be at Dulles airport by 2:30pm.

Blooms will be whatever they are - no guarantees. Sorry 2:30 p.m. at Dulles will not be possible.
