Northern Virginia Hiking Club (NVHC)

This group is for hiking enthusiasts in the DC/MD/NOVA area.  NVHC asks non-members who show up on hikes to pay a nominal guest fee of $2.  Just being an online member of this Meetup site does not automatically make you a member of NVHC.  NVHC is a very well-organized, friendly hiking club, and NVHC offer hikes almost every Saturday and Sunday throughout the entire year, rain or shine.  See the official NVHC website at www.NVHC.com.  

OFFICIAL NVHC PET POLICY: In general, pets are welcome on NVHC hikes as long as they are well behaved and kept under control at all times.  Dogs should be current on rabies vaccination, wear identification, and be kept on a standard 6-8 foot leash.  Please contact the hike leader in advance if you intend to bring a pet because pets are not permitted on some trails.  All pooper scooper laws must be obeyed.  Remember to bring water for your pet.
