It seems as if most people have hiked Hamilton Mountain but this will be my first time. Normally a bit too short with not enough elevation gain for my liking but as my arm is healing this might be just my pace based on my huffing and puffing up Dog Mountain on the 2nd.
From what I can tell the access road is open on weekends so we should be able to drive to the trail head. If my information is inaccurate, please someone let me know.
One of the attractions with Hamilton is the views but don't get your hopes up for the 9th. It's too early to trust any kind of weather prediction. As of when this is posted on the 3rd the prediction calls for cloudy weather with a temperature in the high 50's. Should be nice hiking weather.
Hiking time: We should be up and down in less then four hours, including breaks
Distance: 7.5 miles
Elevation gain: 2,100 feet
Driving distance: About 100 miles round trip. $8-10 for gas
Sturdy hiking boots- expect mud
No cotton clothing
