Hamilton Mountain

It seems as if most people have hiked Hamilton Mountain but this will be my first time. Normally a bit too short with not enough elevation gain for my liking but as my arm is healing this might be just my pace based on my huffing and puffing up Dog Mountain on the 2nd.

From what I can tell the access road is open on weekends so we should be able to drive to the trail head. If my information is inaccurate, please someone let me know.

One of the attractions with Hamilton is the views but don't get your hopes up for the 9th. It's too early to trust any kind of weather prediction. As of when this is posted on the 3rd the prediction calls for cloudy weather with a temperature in the high 50's. Should be nice hiking weather.

Hiking time: We should be up and down in less then four hours, including breaks

Distance: 7.5 miles

Elevation gain: 2,100 feet

Difficulty: Moderate.

Driving distance: About 100 miles round trip. $8-10 for gas

Ten essentials

Sturdy hiking boots- expect mud

Food/ drink

No cotton clothing

If there are any other Gorge dwellers, heading to the trail head from White Salmon - happy to carpool.

One of my least fav hikes but it was socked in fog. The views are actually quite nice but first impression never left.

The parking lot takes a Discover Pass, which can be purchased for a day there for, I think $10/day. If I get on, I have a Discover Pass and can drive with room for 3 more.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
