Angels Rest is a short but pretty steep hike and the closes Gorge hike to Portland. I'm planning to use the hike as a conditioning hike to get myself back in shape after the arm injury later in the spring. The hike on March 10th will have a medium pace so feel free to sign up even if you aren't up for hiking very fast. To make it a bit tougher feel free to pack 2-3 or even four gallons of water which you can pour out on top to save the knees for the way down.
Distance: 4.8 miles
Altitude gain: 1,450 feet
Pace: About 2.5 MPH
We should be up and down in 2 hours and 15 min. including a break on top.
Bring: Ten essentials, snacks, water.
Gas: It's about 60 miles round trip. $5 for gas
PARTICIPATE AT YOUR OWN RISK; Northwest Wilderness Group organizers are volunteers.
